2024 Interstate Rivalry expected for Team Awards at the Nationals

News

As the 2024 Australian Dressage Championships approach, the stage is set for an exciting display of skill and competition. This year’s Nationals will see Victorian and Queensland riders battle for supremacy, with New South Wales determined to defend its home turf.

Inspired by the recent Olympic fervour, Australia’s elite dressage riders, including Olympians and World Equestrian Games competitors, will vie for national titles across levels from Novice to Grand Prix. The Sydney International Equestrian Centre will be the epicentre of this high-stakes competition, drawing horse and rider combinations from across the country.

Teams from Queensland, New South Wales, and Victoria are expected to bring formidable strength, while other states without enough competitors for a full team have the option to form composite teams to join the fray. The Championships will feature State Team competitions in various categories, including EA from Elementary to Advanced, FEI from Prix St. Georges to Grand Prix, as well as Pony and Para Dressage, adding an extra layer of friendly rivalry among the states.

Riders interested in representing their state should inform their state dressage committees of their participation in the event and their desire to be considered for selection. This is a rare opportunity to showcase talent on a national stage, so don’t miss your chance to get involved.
